Impermanence, or anicca/anitya, is a core Buddhist doctrine. It states that all existence is “transient, evanescent, inconstant”. All things, both material and mental, are continuously changing, subject to decline and destruction. They are not permanent; they come into being and dissolve.
“Climate Impermanence Data” consists of two paintings. The first is a simple, black-and-white text piece; while the second is a breakdown of all the 321 pixels used in the text piece, broken down and randomized throughout the canvas, resembling TV static, which is far from actually being static as they are always continuously changing.
This art piece was presented during the final Art and Science fair.
