How do we help our end-users better interpret and use our data? Conversely, how do we prioritise data collection towards what our users might need most, especially when it comes to potentially life-saving climate risk data? Design thinking is an approach to problem-solving that keeps the users in mind, engaging insights from comprehensive data and synthesising user journeys that communicate the data results to the target audience in a meaningful way. Masters student Sherene Tan shared about how the design-thinking approach could help researchers tailor research to their target users in this mini workshop.
