Hanik Lakhe holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science from Khwopa College, Bhaktapur. He is serving as a Research Associate at Smartphones For Water Nepal (S4W-Nepal) and also spearheads the Monitoring and Evaluating Suspended Sediment in Himalaya (MESSHI) Project. Hanik's research interests lie in sustainable water resource management, climate change analysis, remote sensing in hydrology, extreme event analysis, hydrological modeling and sediment dynamics in Himalayan rivers. He is inclined towards multidisciplinary projects, integrating citizen science methodologies, low-cost sensors, remote sensing technologies, and modeling techniques to deepen the understanding of water resources and address pressing water-related challenges. Hanik is deeply committed to contributing to the field of water and climate through innovative research that tackles critical issues impacting communities. Driven by a passion for leveraging scientific inquiry for societal benefit, he is dedicated to fostering professionalism and acquiring essential skills to realize his career aspirations. Hanik is enthusiastic about collaborating with like-minded individuals and organizations to bring about positive change in water resource management practices. Through collaborative efforts and interdisciplinary exchanges, he seeks to contribute to the development of equitable and inclusive approaches to climate change and water management.
