Hello everyone,
I'm Namgay Dechen, a graduate with a B.Sc in Forestry from the College of Natural Resources, Royal University of Bhutan. At 27 years old, I've been serving as a forestry officer since 2021. Within the Paro Forest Division, I oversee the management of community forests. My work often takes me to the remote corners of the Paro mountains, whether for Red Panda Surveys or monitoring cordyceps collection in highland communities. During these endeavors, I've witnessed changes in their water sources and the number and size of cordyceps, attributed to climate change.
My professional interests are deeply rooted in Dendrochronology, particularly Dendrohydrology, which motivated my fourth-year research focus. Dendrohydrology offers insights into climate studies, especially climate change, which greatly excites me. I possess a strong sense of curiosity and eagerly embrace opportunities for learning and growth.
I look forward to engaging with you all.
