My name is Sonali Manimaran and I am a third-year PhD student at the Asian School of the Environment (ASE) and Earth Observatory of Singapore at Nanyang Technological University (NTU). I am investigating environmental displacement and migration, using disaster risk analysis tools. I am also currently co-teaching a data science class at ASE. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Earth Systems Science from NTU. I also have work experience in FinTech and sustainable investments. I employ mixed methods in my work, having gained experience in analysing and modeling environmental data in the context of disaster risk and environmental economics, as well as performing qualitative surveys in the latter field.
