Kathmandu Street Tomato is an art project by Christina Justice looking at the overlooked tomato plants that grow and thrive along the roadways and in the interstitial spaces of the city. This project brings awareness and attention to how we might protect and expand urban agricultural and green spaces in the future increasing self sufficiency of food production and food security.
Digital prints were made showing portraits of street tomatoes across Kathmandu. Local tomato seeds dried into nepali paper were passed out to exhibition attendees to inspire them to grow their own street tomato.
